LawWithoutWalls is a collaborative academic model that brings together students, faculty, practitioners, and entrepreneurs from around the country and the world to explore innovation in legal education and practice. LWOW teams 100+ students from 30+ law and business schools around the world with academic, business, entrepreneur, and legal mentors.  The LWOW initiative consists of LawWithoutWalls Original and LWOW X and is represented in 15 countries and 6 continents. The Program Coordinator oversees the budget, event management, and other administrative tasks.

Programmatic Coordination

Provides general oversight of the day-to-day operations of the program; assists Director and Associate Director in the development, organization, production and evaluation of relative and overall needs of the program in order to achieve the mission, goals and objectives of the program.  Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Budget:  Tracking, managing, reporting, and forecasting budget and financials and working with the budget office and Founder/Director to ensure all reimbursements, donations, vendor payments, and disbursements are accurate and timely.
  • Events:  Coordinating, managing, and overseeing all details related to the 2+ events that we hold for LawWithoutWalls each year.  This includes working with the events department at the University of Miami and the Associate Director, making recommendations on venues, lodging, restaurants, party locations, entertainment, decoration, swag etc., tracking RSVPs and collecting payments, travel arrangements, and helping develop written communications
  • Technology:  Working with Associate Director and Director on maintaining the website pages as needed and where designated using tools including Squarepace, Photoshop, Sprout, Vimeo, Canva and others), training Thought Leaders for virtual webinars, and running virtual webinars; maintaining an up to date database of all members of the 1000+ LWOW community.
  • Written Communication: responding to and drafting scores of emails for the LawWithoutWalls team and developing email invites for events and fundraising.  Designs and executes a social media plan for LWOW community and growth across multiple platforms (e.g., twitter, snapchat, Instagram, facebook, etc.)
  • Student/Faculty/Community Liaison:  serving as the direct contact for all the LWOW community paying close attention to students (especially the Miami Law students) to help coordinate resources and maximize their experience
  • Calendaring:  On a daily basis the Program Coordinator is responsible for working with LawWithoutWalls team members to facilitate the smooth execution of many meetings with multiple participants and multiple time zones.

Special Projects

Senior Program Coordinator will be expected to implement and follow through on all projects and any special projects that occur over the course of the LWOW Program.

Education/Experience/ Skills

A Bachelor’s degree plus some work experience is required (3-5 years of related experience required). This position requires excellent attention to detail and a high proficiency in organizational, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, and technological skills. Candidates must work well under great pressure, be capable of overseeing projects and events with minimal supervision, be creative and be able to think outside the box to solve problems, be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and learn new skills quickly, be experienced in working well with individuals who have strong personalities, and be proficient at balancing competing responsibilities. Proficiency in Google Drive, Dropbox, and all Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Skype) is required, and candidates must be eager and able to learn and use new computer applications quickly. This position requires a flexible schedule with advance notice required as some events involve evening and weekend participation (especially relevant as LawWithoutWalls participants are spread across different time zones around the world), and some work will require off-campus visits to meet with local vendors and to run errands.  Foreign language capability preferred.  Coding and familiarity with developing websites preferred.
